Taking Orders

Learn how to use the OXOCO POS to take and manage orders

POS Overview

The OXOCO POS interface is designed for speed and simplicity. It works on tablets, phones, and desktops.

Creating an Order

Select a Table

  1. Open the POS from the admin sidebar or navigate to /pos
  2. The table selector appears on the left sidebar
  3. Tap a table to start an order, or choose Takeaway or Delivery

Add Items

  1. Browse categories across the top
  2. Tap an item to add it to the cart
  3. If the item has modifiers (sizes, extras), a dialog will appear
  4. Adjust quantity using the +/- buttons

Special Instructions

Tap on any item in the cart to add special instructions, such as:

  • "No onions"
  • "Extra spicy"
  • "Allergic to nuts"

Managing the Cart

Action How
Remove item Swipe left or tap the X button
Change quantity Tap +/- on the item
Add note Tap the item to open the detail view
Clear cart Tap Clear at the bottom of the cart

Submitting the Order

When the cart is ready:

  1. Review the order summary
  2. Tap Send to Kitchen
  3. The order appears on the KDS immediately
  4. A receipt can be printed or sent digitally

Order Types

OXOCO supports three order types:

  • Dine-in - Assigned to a table, served at the table
  • Takeaway - Packaged for the customer to take
  • Delivery - Sent to a delivery address with zone-based fees
