Configure sound notifications for the KDS
Audio Notifications
The KDS can play sounds when new orders arrive, helping kitchen staff notice orders even when they're not looking at the screen.
Enabling Audio
- Open the KDS screen
- Tap the Settings icon (gear) in the top right
- Toggle Audio Alerts on
- Choose your alert sound
Note: Your browser may require you to interact with the page before audio can play. Tap anywhere on the KDS after loading to enable audio.
Alert Types
| Event | Sound |
|---|---|
| New Order | Bell chime when an order enters the New column |
| Rush Order | Urgent tone for priority or overdue orders |
Volume Control
Adjust the KDS volume using:
- The volume slider in KDS settings
- Your device's system volume controls
Troubleshooting Audio
No sound playing?
- Check that your device volume is not muted
- Tap anywhere on the KDS page to enable browser audio
- Verify audio is enabled in KDS settings
- Try refreshing the page
